Jefferson's clinical laboratories provide the complete range of modern testing on samples for patients. Its well-defined subgroups
are responsible for chemical, endocrinologic, toxicologic, radio-immune, flow cytometric, hematologic and microbiologic tests.
The department's anatomic and surgical pathology groups continue to advance their disciplines, while providing essential support
to the activities of the medical center. Pathologists at Jefferson comprise a large and very active group of researchers conducting
both basic technological and applied pathology investigations. Areas of concentration and recent strides include liver pathology,
basic cancer research, electronmicroscopy, oncologic immunopathology and effects of alcohol on the body.
