PATIENT & VISITOR INFO

Pastoral Care

Jefferson recognizes that hospitalization can be an emotional experience for our patients. Regardless of the reason for admission, hospital stays may bring feelings of discouragement, fear, loss, joy, anxiety, grief or loneliness. The Pastoral Care Team is committed to treating your needs while you are in the hospital. In addition to your physical needs, you may also have emotional and spiritual needs that are an important part of the healing process. Our entire staff at Jefferson, including our chaplains, area here for you – to listen, to comfort and to care.

About the Chaplains

Chaplains are available at any time to listen and help you and your loved ones through difficult moments. The chaplains will honor the beliefs and traditions that bring meaning to you. The views of all religions, denominations and personal philosophies are respected.

Pastoral Care is happy to contact a member of the clergy or a leader of your own faith. We welcome the involvement of your home clergy or faith leaders during your stay in the hospital.

To reach a Chaplain, please call the Department of Pastoral Care and Education at 215-955-6336 or 5-6336 (from inside the hospital), Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or dial 215-955-6060 or 5-6060 (from inside the hospital) and ask the operator to page the duty chaplain, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
