PATIENT & VISITOR INFO

Smoking & Smoking Cessation

Jefferson Hospital building entrances will be smoke free effective January 3, 2006.

For the health and safety of the entire Jefferson community, smoking will no longer be permitted  in hospital buildings or at any hospital building entrances.

“No ifs, ands or butts!”

If you are a smoker, hospitalization can be uncomfortable for you. You may feel symptoms of withdrawal and general discomfort from being unable to smoke. Jefferson Hospital cares about your comfort and safety. The Jefferson Tobacco Intervention Program is here to help you.  If you feel now may be a good time to quit, you can talk to your physicians about arranging a consult with one of the team members of the Tobacco Intervention Program. They will be happy to talk to you about your particular needs.

You can also arrange a post-discharge appointment by calling 215-955-STOP (7867) or 5-STOP (from inside the hospital).
