For years, parents in the Philadelphia area have trusted Thomas Jefferson University Hospital to provide expert general and
specialist pediatric care for their newborns through teens. And now, that outstanding level of care has gotten even broader.
Jefferson’s physicians have been joined by pediatric specialists from Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Jefferson’s
partner in pediatrics. Together, this team now provides pediatric care at one stop in a new, friendly facility in Center City,
Philadelphia.
It’s a multi-function junction
Of course, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has long been known for its impressive range and its compassionate delivery
of pediatric services. Each year, Jefferson treats thousands of children in its:
- Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – the highest level of care for newborns available, staffed by 11 neonatologists
- Inpatient unit, staffed around the clock by pediatricians and pediatric nurses
- Children on the Road to Home (CRH) pediatric unit, where a supportive team of doctors and nurses work closely with parents
to return chronically ill children home
Nearly 3,500 babies are delivered annually. These babies are cared for in well-baby nurseries staffed by the same pediatricians
who can treat them through their teens.
