Jefferson physiatrists have been leaders in rehabilitation medicine for more than 30 years. A team of Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Rehab Nurses, Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, Social Workers and Psychologists support the full-time staff of board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians. In affiliation with Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, the department makes possible Jefferson's Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center.

A variety of additional programs and centers based in the department serve a large population of patients representing virtually all rehabilitation needs. The department has longstanding expertise in caring for adult and pediatric patients with neurologic, orthopedic, oncological, medical and surgical impairments and / or disabilities.
