Staff Development and Continuing Education

Every day, new drugs reach the market and new therapeutic applications are identified for commercially available medications. Still, other drugs are removed from the market. With so many changes occurring at such a rapid pace, it is imperative that pharmacy departments keep their staff up-to-date. Through strategically planned staff development programs, Jefferson pharmacists, residents and technicians are able to pursue topical information, skill development and continuing education. In addition, Jefferson Hospital’s role as an academic medical center gives its employees the additional advantage of offering interdisciplinary continuing educational opportunities. For example, through the Office of Health Policy and Clinical Outcomes, an ongoing Health Policy Forum meets regularly and often offers programs that are eligible for ASHP credit.
