Learn What They Have to Say About...
Clinical Pharmacy "At the DCP (decentralized pharmacy), we verify all of the physician orders. All orders for medication are entered by physicians into our integrated computerized prescriber order entry (CPOE) system. Through this system, we have real-time access to those compnents of a patient's medical reord that we need to make clinical decisions. We also answer questions from doctors how to properly prescribe, how to dose, questions about drug interactions and allergies-we handle that. We are responsible for checking all of the medications that leave the pharmacy. We also perform reviews of the nursing stations to check for expired medications and to make sure the stock is up to date and appropriate."
