Before, it would take us a long time to get an answer to a drug information question but right now—all depending on the difficulty of the question—we can probably get an answer within ten or fifteen minutes.” -- Linda

"I’m working with the transplant team on some research projects, and I’m working on a few projects on my own. My projects involve looking at immunosuppressive agents. We want to provide cost-effective therapy without compromising patient care."

"I am one of the Investigational Drug Service Pharmacists. The Service is here to help physicians with the protocols for studies that involve drugs offered to patients on an investigational basis. All drug studies conducted in the Hospital must be coordinated through our Service. We review the protocols, help dispense the medications and make sure that protocol requirements and schedules are met. The types of studies we've worked on include those involving oncology, pain management, stroke, sepsis, and pulmonary syndromes such as acute respiratory distress syndrome. We've also done a number of maternity studies with moms who go into labor too early."
