Meet Our Pharmacists Tracie Right after graduating from high school in Reading, Pennsylvania, Tracie joined the military. "I wasn't sure what I wanted to do except that I knew I wanted to do something in the medical field. I chose to be trained as a pharmacy technician." Tracie found that she not only enjoyed pharmacy but that she had an aptitude for it. After she fulfilled her service requirement, she attended Temple University, where she pursued a degree in chemistry and completed her prerequisites for her pharmacy degree. While there, she applied to, and was accepted at, Xavier University of Louisiana, College of Pharmacy (located in New Orleans) where she obtained her PharmD. Eventually Tracie returned to the Philadelphia area after completing a Pharmacy Practice Residency in New York City. She was working in private industry when she learned of an opening in Jefferson's Pharmacy Department. Tracie applied, was hired, and is today working as a patient care pharmicist in one of the Hospital's decentralized pharmacies (DCP's). |
