Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is located within the 13-acre campus of Thomas Jefferson University. Most of the University’s academic, administrative and patient-care facilities are clustered within an eight-block radius. Jefferson's immediate neighborhood offers much to explore. To the east is one of the most historical miles in America, home to Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and many other buildings, parks and museums of national historical significance. Also east of the campus is Penn's Landing - a popular waterfront area that showcases the city's history as a working port along the Delaware River. A few blocks south of campus is South Street, a vibrant district of trendy shops, restaurants and night spots. Philadelphia's famous Italian Market on South Ninth Street is also nearby.

A few blocks to the north is Philadelphia's own Chinatown and always-popular Reading Terminal Market, where you can find fresh produce and exotic foods from around the world. Theaters and music halls are all within easy walking distance. A variety of organizations use the nearby Philadelphia Convention Center to meet and conduct activities.
