Mission
The Specialized Residency in Cardiology is designed to develop expert knowledge and skills in managing drug therapy for those patients with cardiovascular diseases. This will be achieved through participation in multidisciplinary activities in various inpatient and outpatient areas of cardiac practice. There are also several opportunities for teaching and research throughout the residency experience.

Cardiology Residency Outcomes
Upon completion of this program the resident will:

  • Be a competent, independent practitioner able to provide advanced, specialized pharmacotherapy management to patients with diseases affecting the cardiovascular system.
  • Be prepared to participate in the management of medical emergencies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize responsibilities and delegate assignments.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to design and implement clinical research.
  • Be an effective educator.
