Mission
The Specialized Residency in Critical Care is designed to develop a well-rounded critical care practitioner and effective clinical instructor in the area of critical care.  This will be achieved through participation in multidisciplinary and independent patient care activities combined with teaching and research opportunities within the realm of critical care.

Upon completion of this program the resident will:

• Demonstrate leadership and practice management skills.
• Be able to optimize the outcomes of critically ill patients by providing evidence-based medication therapy as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate excellence in the provision of training, including preceptorship, and the delivery of educational activities for health care professionals.
• Demonstrate the skills necessary to conduct a critical care pharmacy research project.
• Be able to effectively participate in the management of medical emergencies.
• Be able to perform quality improvement activities aimed at enhancing the safety and effectiveness of medication-use processes in the critical care area.
