Philadelphia Magazine named Jefferson Hospital one of the region's "Best Places to Work," describing the hospital as "dependable, popular and down-to-earth." The article also praises our "focus on academics" and "sophisticated benefits plan." Our staff is especially pleased with the benefits Jefferson offers for tuition assistance, commuter services, health and wellness facilities and with the privileges they enjoy at the Scott Memorial Library. Jefferson offers a flexible benefits program that allows employees to choose from a variety of benefits. The "OPT" program is available to all full-time non-bargaining employees. Benefits Credits are based on the employee's age, salary and dependent status. Jefferson contributes up to 80% of the cost towards some of these benefits. However, if you need more credits than what is provided, you can convert a portion of your pre-tax salary to additional Benefit Credits in order to purchase more benefits. Part-time employees who work 40 hours or more biweekly are eligible to participate in the OPT program. If a part-time employee elects to participate in the program, Jefferson will contribute up to 50% of the cost towards some of the benefits. By the same token, if you do not need to use all of your benefits, you may be eligible to receive a portion of those benefit dollars as salary.
