Tuition Assistance

As an academic institution, Jefferson values education and encourages its staff to seek additional training. That is why many have chosen to take advantage of our tuition assistance program. Through the use of this benefit, employees have been able to complete their undergraduate programs, gain certifications, and achieve advanced degrees. Their efforts are often rewarded with the opportunity for career advancement.

External Tuition Assistance
Regular full-time employees are eligible for "external" tuition assistance (courses taken outside of Thomas Jefferson University) after six months of employment. Undergraduate courses are reimbursed at 80%, up to $3,000 per fiscal year. (Jefferson's fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30.) Graduate courses are reimbursed at 80%, up to $5,000 per fiscal year. Courses must be job-related or university-related, in a degreed program, and taken for credit at an accredited college or university. Medical and law degrees are excluded. Employees must remain employed by Jefferson for one year following completion of the last course.

Graduate courses are reimbursed at 90%, up to $7,500 per fiscal year. Medical and law degrees are excluded.
