Meet Our Radiology Imaging Staff

Pat, CT

In 1976, less than two weeks after she graduated from South Philadelphia High School, Pat was enrolled in St. Joseph Hospital's Diagnostic X-Ray Program. Two years later, she was working as a registered X-ray technologist at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Turnersville, New Jersey. "A friend told me that Jefferson was hiring," Pat remembers, "I always wanted to work here, so I came in and applied and they called. I've now been here for twenty years."

"Sometimes I joke about being a 'True Jeffersonian,'" Pat says. "I have a 44-year history with TJUH. I was born here in 1958. From 1972-1976, I worked in the Hospital file room after school. Then in 1982 I was hired as a full-time X-ray technologist on the evening shift."

Pat took a leave to start her family and when she returned, Jefferson had just become a Level 1 Trauma Center. The designation required that the hospital have CT capability 24 hours, and with the increased need for technologists, an opportunity became available. Jefferson was providing training for X-ray technologists to become CT technologists. Pat took up the offer and eventually became CT certified. She's been performing CT for 15 years.
