Pete, MRI

Pete is an example of how an individual can use Jefferson's educational benefits to advance one's skills and career. "For me, tuition reimbursement has been the most useful benefit. This allowed me greater flexibility in pursuing my educational goals," he observes.

Pete grew up in Limerick, Pennsylvania and attended Montgomery County Community College before receiving his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology from Thomas Jefferson University's College of Health Professions in 1986. While finishing his degree, he started working at Jefferson in the general diagnostic radiology program. Within a year, he had entered into an advanced imaging certificate program where he trained in CT, MRI, and angiography.

By 1990, Pete was on a management track at Jefferson. Several years later, he entered a Master's program at St. Joseph's University and graduated with a degree in Health and Hospital Administration. This degree has proved to be quite useful as he now manages multiple sites of Jefferson's CT and MRI units. Pete manages the Outpatient Imaging Center on Walnut Street and the imaging facilities at the new Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience (the former site of Wills Eye Hospital).
