Meet Our Radiology Imaging Staff

Santina, General Diagnostic Radiology

Twenty years ago, Santina trained and worked as a medical technologist. She then took a break to raise her family. As her children got older and she decided to go back to work full-time, she realized she was ready for another kind of challenge. She chose to go back to school for training in another career field. Santina says, "I thought about going back to school for medical technology because I always loved the medical sciences, but I thought if was going to go back to school, I might as well do something different. I had recently had some imaging studies done and that seemed like something I might like to do. It turned out that I loved the technical end of it and, besides, imaging seems to be where it's at. It has good possibilities for the future and for growth potential."

After she graduated, Santina surfed local hospital websites looking for jobs. "I applied to Jefferson because I thought this would be a great place to get experience, especially right out of school because it's so kickin' here," Santina explains. Jefferson did hire Santina right out of school, where she's been working full time in the Division of General Diagnostic Radiology.

Jefferson is that much busier and that much bigger, so there is that much more opportunity to learn new things. Basically I wanted to come here, and I got the job.
