About Dr. Frank
Adam Frank, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Surgical Director of the TJUH Pancreas Transplant Program. Dr. Frank has extensive experience in pancreas transplantation, kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, islet transplant, living donor surgery including laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, and dialysis access surgery.

Dr. Frank most recently was a clinical instructor in transplantation surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). He came to Jefferson in June of 2005 with the primary responsibility of leading the pancreas transplant program and contributing to the living donor kidney program.

Dr. Frank's training in transplant surgery began after he completed his surgical residency in July 2000. He was a transplant fellow at the University of Maryland Medical System. He continued his training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in October 2001. Initially, he was a research fellow in HUP's successful human islet isolation laboratory. He became a clinical fellow at that program in January 2003 and continued in that role until he was advanced to the clinical instructor position in July of 2004. He has been aggressively involved in human islet research and the ability of islet transplantation to cure diabetes.

Dr. Frank is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.
