About Dr. Burke
James Burke, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
One of Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best Docs” for 2002, Dr. Burke is well known and respected throughout the Delaware Valley
for his skills in treating the most difficult cases in the area. He was recently honored by the Delaware Valley Chapter of
the National Kidney Foundation for his years of service, long-standing commitment to the field and his dedication to his patients.
Dr. Burke has practiced Nephrology for over 30 years and has over 60 publications.
Dr. Burke is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the American Society
of Transplantation, the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis and the American Society of Hypertension.
Dr. Burke is on the Editorial Board of Clinical Nephrology. He is a Reviewer for Transplantation, the Annals of Internal Medicine,
the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, Kidney International, Geriatric Nephrology, and Urology. He is a member of the Board
of Directors of the National Kidney Foundation of the Delaware Valley and a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension in the American
Society of Hypertension.
