About Dr. Michael
Beckie Michael, DO, is a Jefferson Transplant Nephrologist and Director of Dialysis Services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She is also Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Michael, who was named one of Philadelphia Magazine’s “Top Docs” for Nephrology in 2002, is a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists and a member of numerous professional organizations: the American Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the American Heart Association Council on the Kidney in Cardiovascular Disease and the American Society of Hypertension.

She is principal investigator of several research grants studying complications of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. Dr. Michael has published and lectured widely on the topics of hypertension, anemia and chronic kidney disease.
