The Jefferson Liver Transplantation Program has a long tradition of outstanding success in the treatment of patients with all forms of acute and chronic liver disease. Initiated in 1984, ours has been the longest continuously active Liver Transplantation program in the Philadelphia area. In fact, Jefferson recently celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the first liver transplant in the Delaware Valley. To date more than 500 patients have been transplanted.

Our multidisciplinary team offers patients a comprehensive approach to liver and biliary disease. Hepatologists from our well-regarded Jefferson Digestive Disease Institute in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology work in close collaboration with our team.
