An experienced Division of Acute Care Surgery makes up the all-important surgical portion of Jefferson's Level 1 Trauma Center. Working closely with emergency medicine specialists, Jefferson's trauma surgeons provide state-of-the-science operative
care for critical patients with all types of injuries. The division emphasizes a team approach; orthopaedists, physiatrists
and neurosurgeons all work closely with the trauma team to help provide multidisciplinary care for major injuries.
