Urology is a surgical specialty concerned with the urinary tract in both genders and with the male genital tract and reproductive
system. In addition, urologists work closely with nephrologists, who specialize in the function and disease of the kidneys.
Because nephrologists are internists and urologists are surgeons, urologists are the physicians who perform kidney operations.
