Knowing who should be tested - when and how -
based on age and other risk factors, is simply part of taking
care of yourself today, and providing the best care for patients.
Colorectal cancer is often curable. Especially
if caught early. It's a disease, and an area of personal and public
health, that every one of us - doctor and patient - can have an
impact on, just through knowing and following guidelines. In fact,
this disease is a type of cancer that we can actively prevent, not
just through lifestyle, but also by following recommended steps
for screening and early treatment. All it takes is awareness and
action.
As a special educational offering, Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital will provide a live, real-time, interactive webcast in
which an experienced team of cancer specialists looks at today's
standards for detecting and intervening against colorectal cancer.
Knowledge about testing has evolved as options have expanded. Our
program will include accomplished doctors in genetics, radiology,
gastroenterology, and surgery - plus explanations of procedures,
as well as in-depth patient and physician interviews.
Both professionals and the public may view the live webcast at
www.JeffersonHospital.org/webcast
or www.discoveryhealth.com.
Physicians may sign up at www.JeffersonHospital.org/webcast
to receive CME credits for viewing this webcast.
The webcast uses RealNetworks software to display
both video and synchronized slides in side-by-side windows. Viewers
can download a free copy of the player. It is not
necessary to purchase any of Real's premium players or subscription
plans. The free basic player is all that is required to view
the surgery.
