Minimally invasive, robotic-assisted prostate surgery:
CME Information from Jefferson Medical College

Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are available to physicians who sign up by clicking here for the simulcast on minimally invasive, robotic-assisted prostate surgery via the Internet. Viewers will be able to ask questions online as well. A replay version of the procedure will be available for viewing at this site beginning January 20.

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Compare and contrast laparoscopic versus open radical prostatectomy.
  2. List advantages and potential complications of robotically-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy.
  3. Explain the surgical considerations for robotically-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy.
  4. Comment on the functional results and short-term oncologic efficacy of robotically-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy.
  5. Describe the surgical components and techniques of robotically-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy.
