Each year, the Board solicits proposals from interested departments of Jefferson Hospital. Proposals are due by the end of February. Each proposal is reviewed by the Women’s Board at the March/April meeting and responses are sent out by mid June.
Grants typically range from $1000 to $10,000 and must align with the goals of the Board to benefit the patients at Jefferson Hospital.
Programs that are currently being funded by the Women’s Board include the Pastoral Care chaplain resident, Life Guard, a fund to meet the uncovered needs of patients with cancer, Cribs for Kids Program, which provides cribs to families without a bed for their infant, and the Wig Program for patients who have lost their hair to cancer.
